Hipobuy spreadsheet FAQ: storage, consolidation and durable finds
Questions that come up when people ship mixed-size hauls: how long items can sit, how the most economical box is built, and why durable rows are curated differently.
← Back to overviewBasics
What is this Hipobuy sheet designed around?
Mixed hauls that need to survive a long journey. Rows lean toward durable goods — home items, figures, accessories — because those reward time in storage.
Do I need to buy to read rows?
No. Rows are free to browse. Costs only begin inside Hipobuy once you convert a row into an item to be purchased and shipped.
What sizes of haul does this suit?
Anything from two small items upward. Storage and consolidation are what this workflow is known for, so accumulating slowly is a normal way to use it.
Buying & payment
Which marketplaces do rows come from?
Taobao, Weidian, 1688 and JD. Home and figure rows often come from Taobao or 1688, where the same mould appears under several sellers.
How do I judge a figure or fragile row?
Look for mould notes and paint detail in the photos, then ask for reinforced packing at shipping time. Fragile rows are cheap to protect and expensive to replace.
Can I add items to an existing sitting parcel?
Yes, that is why consolidation exists. Add rows while the storage window is open, then ship everything together in one calculated box.
QC & shipping
How is the 'most economical box' decided?
By chargeable weight. Removing retail cartons, nesting shapes and compressing voids usually beats switching to a cheaper line, because you pay for air otherwise.
How long can items wait before shipping?
A generous free window exists, long enough to build a real consolidated parcel. The exact days and any paid extension live in your Hipobuy account.
Should I insure a bulky consolidated parcel?
For expensive rows, yes. One parcel carrying many rows concentrates the whole haul's value, so insurance costs little relative to what it protects.
Money & safety
Where does money leak in consolidated shipping?
Volumetric surprises and avoidable packaging. Weigh and measure mentally before approving freight; a badly packed box can double the bill silently.
What should never go into a big box?
Batteries not installed in devices, pressurised cans, liquids over the limit, and replicas. One forbidden item can hold the entire consolidated parcel hostage.
Damage on arrival — what now?
Photograph the packaging before unpacking and compare to the pre-shipment QC images. Shipping damage claims succeed on evidence, not on disappointment.
Practical guidance only. Hipobuy's published storage window, line prices and packaging options are what govern your order.
